Circuit Breaker:

Circuit Breaker is used when Fuse  is unsuitable ,unable and inadequate that case use circuit breaker.Circuit Breaker and Protective Relays used for fault detect and isolate .In protection zone Relay give a signal to Circuit Breaker for Triping and protect the units. 

The main purposes of Circuit Breaker

1.Switch load currents

2.Break normal and Fault condition

3.Make onto a faults.

4.Carry fault currents.

Circuit Breaker

MCB: Miniature Circuit Breaker is used when system or loads current up to 100 Amps or below.

MCCB: Moulded Case CB is used  when system or loads current aboves 100 Amps and MCCB is more suitable than MCB.

Circuit Breaker are divided into two categories 

  1.Low voltage CB (<1KV)

 2. High voltage CB (>1KV)
